Dwelling and Art | Salento
We are in Lecce exactly in Alessano, Capo di Leuca to tell you the story of Dimora Sighè, between family, art, design and the desire to tell a constantly evolving Puglia, without forgetting its history and roots.
To welcome us with a splendid tray full of typical sweets and biscuits we find Elisa Cazzato, 30 years old, Mezzo Soprano, Theater Actress, plays and studies the harp, just to introduce you to something more about this woman, who has made Sighè a true "Abode".
Elisa tells us that before being as we see it, the structure was in a state of neglect, and even before in its ancient origins it was used as a marsh to collect rainwater, incredible just to think about it given the transformation that the Cazzato family has undertaken. A restructuring that is based precisely on the link with the territory and the hidden culture of Salento which is interpreted in an artistic key thanks to collaborations with local designers, artisans and artists.
Inside the large ivory-colored spaces we find touches of color, decorated plates, ceramics and vases that often have various representations, always attributable to a message, to a meaning, for example the voice of forgotten women who thanks to the collaboration with the famous Artist Vincenzo d'Alba are transformed into artistic ceramics, in addition to women we find another recurring theme often depicted with the gesture of "Silence" and which we also find in the name of the structure itself "Sighé" in ancient Greek means silence, and stillness.
The Dimora extends over 70 square meters and is ideal for a couple, the beauty derives from the wise use of the materials used, the typical cocciopesto that makes everything of an ivory and glass color, it is thanks to the large well distributed windows that the light radiates the Dimora recreating a unique and muffled atmosphere.
Structurally, the space is divided into a living area with living room and open space kitchen that overlooks the outside where we find a splendid whirlpool tub also in cocciopesto, deckchairs to enjoy the Salento sun, and a large table where you can dine by candlelight. .
The sleeping area instead has a large room, with artistic touches and a magnificent whirlpool tub which, thanks to a glass wall, displays the typical landscape.
Finally we find a lovely bathroom, with attention to every detail and equipped with a shower.
Dimora Sighè is a concentrate of symbolism and passion, the result of the work of a family and young minds who wish to enhance the territory by telling it.
