The Grand Hotel Intercontinental in Bordeaux stands majestically in Place de La Comédie, one of the most historic and prestigious places in the city, where Cours de l’Intendance, Allées de Tourny and Cours Georges Clemenceau meet. In fact, it is no coincidence that this precious hub is also called The Golden Triangle, the beating heart of Bordeaux's Luxury Shopping.
Before becoming a five-star hotel, the structure was an 18th century stately home and boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of the Grande Theater which owes its birth to the architect Victor Louis. The charm of this property is the result of a process of modernization and renovation that culminated in 2007 and make this charming hotel a blend of neoclassical beauty and luxury hospitality.
The Baroque influences enhance the neoclassicism, the signature of Jaques Garcia in the interior design is evident and gives the rooms an aura of elegance and charm of yesteryear. Carpets, marble, drapery and silk, with an intimate atmosphere, with suggestive lighting. The hotel has two restaurants, a bar and a panoramic terrace open from April to October. The gastronomic restaurant, Le pressoir d'Argent, is one of the best in town, thanks to the distinguished multi-starred chef Gordon Ramsay, and has two Michelin stars.
Located on the first floor of the hotel, the restaurant takes its name from the impressive and very rare solid silver lobster press, made by the famous Christofle: there are only five in the world. This collectible is used daily to crush the shell and carcass of the blue lobster in order to extract the juices. Sumptuous inlaid floors, mauve and bright orange velvet armchairs, in a classic Empire setting create an elegant and delightfully intimate atmosphere. The restaurant menu pays homage to the Aquitaine region, using 95% of local produce: foie gras of the Landes, truffles, organically grown vegetables from the Basque Country and the wonderful blue lobster enter the scene thanks to the imagination and savoir-faire of Gordon Ramsay. In addition, the cellar has an extraordinary selection of wines, with over 500 references.
In constant pursuit of perfection, luxury and French art-de-vivre, InterContinental Bordeaux also collaborates with Guerlain and recently opened a brand new spa that sublimates beauty and well-being. Spa Guerlain offers carefully designed treatments to meet all your wishes and has created a treatment exclusive to InterContinental Bordeaux: the Water Mirror treatment. A tribute to women, dedicated to the hydration and youth of the skin that offers a comforting experience, a regenerating journey that helps the skin to rehydrate and fight the aging process.
The InterContinental Bordeaux is the ideal place to get to know the city of Bordeaux intimately. Located in the heart of the historic center, it offers a wonderful starting point for exploring Bordeaux. Hotel guests can count on the solid support of the unrivaled Clefs d'Or concierge: a service of 4 hotel porters. Nobody knows Bordeaux like them!
