Today we are talking about an enchanting 19th century building that is actually a historic hotel with the captivating name "Il Palazzetto" just think that it overlooks the Spanish Steps to understand the charm of the view and of the structure itself.

A small jewel a 'petit' hotel created and wanted by Roberto E. Wirth, Owner and General Manager of Hassler Roma, Il Palazzetto has quickly become a lively meeting point for a dynamic and trendy public as well as the favorite location for those who want to stay in the capital in an intimate and reserved environment that offers a very high level of service.

Built on the ancient stones that were the stage of the sumptuous banquets of the Roman general Lucullus, it was rebuilt in 1898 and for many years it was the favorite residence of a noble Roman family who preferred it, precisely because of the uniqueness and prestige of the building. , to his historic building in Piazza Mignanelli.

It has remained uninhabited since the end of the 1980s and, in 1998, it was chosen by Bernardo Bertolucci to set the film 'The Siege': for 8 months the building was occupied by the filming of Mr. Kinsky's sentimental 'siege' at the beautiful Shandurai.

The following year, in 1999, Roberto E. Wirth bought Il Palazzetto with the intention of creating an intimate and reserved place focused on the same concept of hospitality as the legendary Hotel Hassler, the iconic hotel - always owned by him - located on the other side of Piazza Trinità dei Monti.

After three years of work, Il Palazzetto has returned to its former glory, thanks to a careful restoration that has brought to light the original materials and prestigious finishes.

For example, a period floor in colorful marble was found on the ground floor, while the railing of the circular staircase, which dates back to the late 1800s, is in hand-worked wrought iron. The original elements combine harmoniously with the contemporary style that distinguishes the furnishings, making it an architectural jewel of rare beauty.

The building is divided into five floors where the rooms are located, the spaces for private events such as the Library room, the Wine Bar and the Secret Garden, and the two panoramic terraces with incredible views of Piazza di Spagna and Trinità dei Monti.

Three bedrooms overlook the Spanish Steps and one onto Vicolo del Bottino. The décor is simple and tasteful with neutral colors on beige and cream with velvet and satin accents. Spacious, they offer guests maximum comfort and, at the same time, the feeling of being in a private residence with the added luxury of impeccable service and an incomparable location.
