ODAÏTÈS is a brand of botanical and sensory cosmetics, Made in France, founded six years ago by Nabila Chemillier and her two sisters. The origin of the foundation of the brand stems from the sisters' passion for the world of cosmetics, inherited from their grandmother who gave them a childhood in an environment full of perfumes, especially water with orange blossoms.
Carrying on the grandmother's passion, for which the quality of raw materials was very important, has become the basis of the brand's philosophy, which in fact works with cold-extracted active ingredients and bio-fermentation, to obtain a very precious product for the skin. . The first idea was the scrub, after which they decided to use the date as the main element, precisely because the grandmother used so many fruits for her preparations. In particular, the juice of the pulp, the virgin oil of the stone and the powder are used for the sweet fruit, the latter as an exfoliant. A key feature is that all ingredients are natural, including emulsifiers and preservatives. The brand made its debut with four products: cream, serum, make-up remover, face mask and gradually a product was launched a year up to ten: nine cosmetics and one orange-scented candle.
It is very interesting to know the behind the scenes of each new idea of the brand: to develop each new product the sisters go back into the memories of their grandmother and ask themselves what she did for a specific purpose, what ingredients she used. For example, as regards the choice of the active ingredient around the eyes, they remembered the grandmother's use of virgin date kernel oil. The future of ODAÏTÈS holds some interesting news: the use of aleppo oil and the creation of a food supplement for the beauty of the skin, starting from within.
A small world, ancient and new, makes space between scents and soft textures of dates, such as those we tested in our editorial office: the hand scrub and the cream were a real journey through the memories of the warm homeland of the founders, and their passion for their grandmother's olfactory heritage.
